Remodelers Council

The SHBA Remodelers Council represents and serves the interests of its remodeling industry members. The Council is committed to improved management and technical competency of remodeler members, excellence in service to the consumer, and effective government representation of remodelers' interests.

Working in partnership with the National Association of Home Builders "NAHB Remodelers", the Council provides information, certification, education, and recognition programs geared to keeping remodeler members competitive.

Benefits of Membership

With industry-leading programs in education, networking, marketing, advocacy, and recognition of excellence, the Remodelers Council gives you the tools you need to build your remodeling business.

Some benefits of membership include:

  • Training for a competitive edge. Throughout the year, the council offers a variety of education programs on all aspects of the remodeling business. It also sponsors the  Certified Graduate Remodeler (CGR) designation and the  Certified-Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS) designation
  • Networking to strengthen your connections. Monthly meetings of Council members are held at vendor locations and promote the sharing of trade tips, education about products, and updates on industry happenings. The Council meets on the first Wednesday of the month and if you are in the remodeling industry please come to the next meeting.  Click the link above see the entire schedule.
  • The "Referral HOTLINE" is a special service available only to Council members. A central referral system is managed by the SHBA, which distributes inquiries to HOTLINE members on a rotating schedule. Most HOTLINE participants write $20,000 or more in new work from the HOTLINE service. For information on the HOTLINE, contact Bev Voight at the SHBA.
  • Information to keep you at the forefront of industry developments. A free subscription to the RENews members-only e-newsletter, and resources on NAHB's members-only web site keep you in touch with the remodeling industry.
